What the hell is a Daily Deviation?

On a personal note: Daily Deviations are a big deal to me. The ones I've earned gave me the encouragement to keep doing whatever writing I've accomplished here, and through them I've met more people, made more friends, and enjoyed a stronger sense of community and belonging. In one sense, they are just a feature. In another sense, they are a lot more than just a feature.

Sadly, DeviantArt has removed some of the visibility of DDs that they used to enjoy, and that has hurt the Literature DDs most of all, in my opinion. Because of that, it's very important that the writers around here do MORE, not less, to make sure Lit DDs get suggested, and get read and commented on when they are featured. If we aren't going to help ourselves and each other, why should anyone else here give a damn?

I'm talking to myself as much as to any of you, because I haven't always been awesome about this, either. I admit it. I'm working on it. And that's all I'm asking.

Well that, and please avoid killing spiders. 

I haven't stopped being obnoxious about that.
